Kaiser Chiefs and Lily Allen confirm Electric Proms appearance

Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed for the BBC Electric Proms.

The band are set to team up with Bjork collaborator and 'James Bond' scorer David Arnold, who will reinterpret their songs on October 26.

Arnold said: "Hopefully under the umbrella of the Electric Proms we can throw away the rule book of what you can or can't do with a rock band and a bunch of musicians that you may not expect to seem on stage with them."

Lily Allen is also set to perform with Mark Ronson on October 24. The singer will be a guest vocalist with the producer, who will perform aided by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Also performing with Ronson will be The Specials legend Terry Hall, The Charlatans singer Tim Burgess, Candie Payne and hotly-tipped singer Santo Gold.

Also playing the festival on October 24 are Sigur Ros who will premiere new film 'Heima' at the nearby Cecil Sharp House and play an acoustic show.

Tickets are set to go onsale from noon on September 12. For availability after then go bbc.co.uk/electricproms.

More additions to the festival, which takes place between October 24-28, will be announced on September 10
The Game rejects plea deal

The Game rejected a Manhattan prosecutor's offer today (June 13) of a guilty plea for time already served.

The LA rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, was arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer last year.

He allegedly told a taxi driver that he was an undercover officer and convinced him to run a series of red lights.

"Why should he plead guilty to bogus charges for a non-jail sentence if he's innocent," said the rapper's attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, outside the courtoom.

"And he is innocent. It's rare that I have a 100 percent innocent defendant, but this is one."

A guilty plea could have ended the case against The Game, reports the Associated Press.

Lichtman said that charges were harrassment and a "new low" for the police. He added, "This case will end in a dismissal or an acquittal."

The Game also faces charges stemming from a Los Angeles incident in which he allegedly punched a man on an opposing basketball team and threatened him with a gun, as previously reported.
